My company (Forbes Marshall(P)Ltd,Pune) has provided me with a new Dell E5510 laptop on 19/1/2011. The touchpad works intermittently making it difficult to operate efficiently. Dell has till date not got the purchase details i.e. invoice#, P.O.# etc. entered into their database to enable their Service dept.to take action on service calls made to Dell. I was asked to mail them scan copy of the invoice after which they took almost a week to send me a draft of ‘Letter of Declaration’ which I was supposed to get printed out on my company letter-head, which again, I was to send to them. Only after receipt of this would they be able to take suitable action for replacement. My questions to Dell are:
1)Why does it take over a month to get the details of a product sold by them into their database used by their own service department?
2)Why can’t they prove prompt and comprehensive service for a company like ours which has bought more than 100 laptops & computers from Dell?

I aquire a INSPIRO laptop in 2008 that has been working fine. Since yesterday, I am unable to use it since upon switching it on, it is throwing an error mesaage code 0147. It says Plug & Play detected an error most likely caused by a faulty driver. It asks me to press F8 on the next boot and run the computer in ‘SafeMode’ and remove /disable certain components. But on doing so, it again comes back to the same error message. So, I am virtually in a loop and just dont know how to move forward.

I have purchased a Dell inspiration 2310 I5 (service tag no. J3183P1) on 15 July 2011. Now the computer very often suddenly get closed and says to Reboot and select proper device. Then when I put the recoverydisk in it it says “Please use a hard drive at least 465 GB in size”. After that it remains the same and nothing happens. I have noticed that after colsing the computer for some hours, then only the computer starts but it also get close again after some time. I have checked that in warranty section it says that my computer do not have any warranty for getting service and I don’t know how that can be happen. Please do the needful to get rid of the above mentioned problems.
