New research has found that spontaneous smoking cessation is a symptom of lung cancer. Barbara Campling of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia has found this conclusion by interviewed 115 lung cancer patients from the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

It has been observed that heavy smokers – who was previously unable to quit smoking, is able to quit smoking easily. Researchers claimed that  tumor secretion of a substance interfering with nicotine addiction caused this spontaneous smoking cessation.
