PayPal recently changed the policy regarding the online paypal transaction in India. According to PayPal. from 1st March 2011, Indian PayPal user can not purchase any product/service using PayPal. PayPal claimed that they changed the policy due to compliance with the RBI policy.

What Will Happen From 1st March 2011 For Indian PayPal User:

• Indian PayPal user can not purchase any product/service using PayPal
• Indian PayPal user  must have to transferred any balance or any future payment to their bank account within 7 days.
• Export-related payments for goods and services into your PayPal account must not exceed US$500 per transaction.

Why PayPal Impose This Threat – Policy Impose By RBI :

• If PayPal keeps your money more than 7 days, they have to pay you interest and apply for a banking permit, hence the 7 day time to transfer your money.
• If PayPal allows amounts of more than $500 per transaction, they have to apply for a banking permit.

Why This Is a Threat To Indian Online Business:

• A Lots of Indian Web Developer / Web Designer  receive payment more than $500 from their clients which will not be possible from 1st March 2011.
• PayPal charge a free of Rs 500 for withdraw amount less than Rs 7000. But due to 7 days of time-line, User need to pay multiple number of Rs 50.
• Indian PayPal user not able to purchase any product or service using the PayPal fund.

“Hello
Your payment of XXX has been sent back to the sender of the payment. We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India. If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select “Goods,” and (c) provide a shipping address. If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India. We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.
Thank you, PayPal”
